Over the next three weeks, you will learn about all four of our executive board members and the nine junior board members. Our series continues with our Junior Board President, Justine.
Hi Everyone! My name is Justine, I am the junior board president for Project GIA. I am 17 years old and have lived in Stockton my whole life. I am currently a senior in high school. During my time in high school, I have gotten very involved with the community, I even set up and organized a whole blood drive at our school!
When I was younger I loved everyone, especially children my age and younger, and since I loved children I would always tell my family and friends that one day I would be a daycare owner. That was when I was about 10, 7 years later my mind has changed drastically. One day I hope to send my children off to daycare while I go to work as an OB/GYN or as ER doctor. As of right now I have not really decided on a college I would like to go to next fall, but wherever I go I hope I can still reach the goals I have.
I first learned about Project GIA when I saw on Facebook that they were looking for girls to model for them. Right away I had my mom message them, a couple days later I was inside a coffee shop with Mariah and Sabrena getting interviewed. A couple weeks later we had the photo shoot on Miracle Mile. After a while they posted again on Facebook about a junior board, which I quickly jumped to. Being with Project GIA has opened my eyes in many ways, from how much girls are treated differently to whats really going on in our community. Project GIA has honestly been such a huge positive thing in my life and I hope it can be a positive thing in many other peoples lives.
